openEyA v2.0 with VGA Screen capture Support
December 11th, 2009 | Published in openEyA releases
We are glad to announce the new extended release of openEyA version 2.0 (MELISSA) with
added support for VGA Screen Capture (via Epiphan hardware capture: vga2usb). See example
With openEyA, automated screen capture (or digital photo shots) can be done on a single low-cost netbook as well as audio/video recording, processing and delivery -all with just one click!
The automated syncronized recordings can be easily embeeded in any e-learning management systems.
openEyA version 2.0 (MELISSA) is available for free as an easy-to-install Ubuntu package. Some small bugs in the naming of zip files and photo filtering were also solved in this release.
We thank you for using openEyA and look forward to your feedback.
Cordially yours,
The SDU Team

Info: openEyA integrates different technologies under Linux Ubuntu 9.04 and 32 bits machines like low-cost Netbooks to synchronize: (i) video in Flash format, (ii) high resolution digital photos or VGA screen capture (to zoom specific areas of a blackboard or a projector
screen) and (iii) classroom audio (without the need to wear a microphone).
